Hematite pellts were reduced with CO-CO₂-H₂O gas mixtures at temperatures of 800℃∼100℃. A simplified rate equation of the form, k=-dln(1-F)/dt, was found to represent satisfactorily the measured data; where k is the overall rate constant derived from the homogeneous reaction model. The rate equation, k=k_(CO)·{P_(CO)-P_(CO2)/P_(CO2)/P_(CO))_1}-B_(H20)·P_(H20)/(P_(H20)/P_(H2))_c, was able to quantify the effect of partial pressure of H₂O in terms of the posoning constant, B_(H20). The value of B_(H20) was 0.536 with CO-H₂O system and 0.214 with CO-CO₂-H₂O system for acid pellets. The posoning effect was found to be independent of the partial pressures of H₂O and reduction temperatures. |
