Various analytical techniques including scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, micro hardness tester, electron probe micro analyzer, and X-ray diffractometer were used to understand the mechanical alloying process in a Ni-base superalloy. The mechanism of mechanical alloying process could be determined by observing the changes of powder morphology, microstructure, chemical homogeniety, degree of mechanical working during the mechanical alloying process.
