Abstract
A mathematical model for the precipitation of spherical particles of hydronium jarosite from ferric sulfate solution has been developed for the growth stage of particles where no further nucleation is accounted for. Measurements on rate of precipitation of jarosite at elevated temperature was found to be in good agreement with the proposed model. It is apparent that the rate of hydrolysis was increased as the number of nuclei increased and the vague of K/D decreased especially, the particle size was largely affected by the reaction temperature.
