The Effect of Crystal Selector on Crystal Growth in Mold - withdrawal Type Unidirectional Solidification

Abstract
The effect of crystal selector on the growth morphology of pure Al and Al-Ni eutectic alloys was investigated in the mold-withdrawal type unidirectional solidification. It was concluded that the proper type of crystal selector is effective both for growing single crystals and for controlling microstructures of eutectic composites.
