The Effect of Transition Metal substitution on the Magnetic Properties of ( Co0.94 Fe 0.06 ) 78 Si4 B18 Amorphous Alloy

Abstract
The effect of transition metal substitution instead of Co on the magnetic properties of (Co_(0.94) Fe_(0.06))_(78)Si₄B_(18) amorphous alloy ribbon was investigated. Mean magnetic moment per metal atom(μ ̄) at room temperature decreased linearly with transition metal substitution and the decrease rate was larger for group Va elements than for group Ⅳa and Ⅵ_a elements Curie temperature decreased linearly with the same trend of μ ̄ by transition metal substitution. The soft magnetic properties were improved by transition metal substitution except for Mn or Ni and the best properties were obtained at X=2 at% in asquenched state, whereas at X=8 at% in annealed state.
