Density of NaCl-LaCl₃binary melt has been measured over the temperature range of 1000-1250K by means of the manometric method using a special transparent electric furnace. The results obtained are summerized as follows: The density of the binary melt was expressed as a function of temperature and composition on the basis of the data measured, The density increases with the increase of LaCl₃content. The molar volume, the expansion coefficient and the partial molar volumes of the components NaCl, LaCl₃were calculated, and the results show a little deviation from additivity. Accordingly, these molten binary systems are regarded as a simple mixture of the components and do not form a complex in spite of the existence of highly electrical charged La^(3+) ion. |
